Women Who Trust God: Fearless and Faithful

Bible Reading:   Exodus 1:15–21

Key verse 17

Vs 17,  "The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live”.

DEVOTION

In a time when Pharaoh's command threatened the lives of every Hebrew baby boy, two ordinary women, Shiphrah and Puah, displayed extraordinary faith. Though they stood before the most powerful ruler in Egypt, they chose to obey God rather than man. Their courage did not arise from human strength but from a deep reverence for the Lord. They feared God more than they feared Pharaoh.
These faithful women remind us that trusting God often requires standing against the pressures of the world. They could have chosen the safer path by obeying Pharaoh, but they valued God's will above their own security. Their obedience became an instrument through which God preserved the future of His covenant people. Through their faithful actions, God continued His plan that would ultimately lead to the birth of Moses, the deliverer of Israel.
Women who trust God are called to be fearless, not because they have no fears, but because their confidence rests in the God who is greater than every earthly authority. In our homes, workplaces, churches, and communities, there will be moments when faithfulness demands courage. Choosing truth over compromise, righteousness over convenience, and obedience over popularity may not always be easy, but God honors those who remain faithful.
Exodus 1 concludes by telling us that God dealt well with the midwives and blessed them because they feared Him. Their names are remembered in Scripture, while the mighty Pharaoh who sought to destroy God's people is remembered for his cruelty. God always honors those who trust Him wholeheartedly.
May every woman of faith be encouraged by the example of Shiphrah and Puah, to trust God, stand for what is right, and remain fearless and faithful in every season of life.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for the inspiring example of Shiphrah and Puah. Give us hearts that fear You above all else and the courage to remain faithful even when obedience is costly. Strengthen every woman to stand for truth, to trust Your promises, and to become a witness of Your love and righteousness. May our lives bring glory to You and encourage others to walk faithfully with Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation.
