Holy Qurbana: Table of Reconciliation 

Bible Reading:  : Isaiah 25:6–9 

Key verse:  8

 “He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove His people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.”-  Isaiah 25:8 (NIV) 

DEVOTION

Isaiah 25:6–9 beautifully portrays God’s eternal banquet, a Table of Reconciliation prepared by the Lord for all people. This glorious prophecy finds its fulfillment in the Holy Qurbana, where Christ lovingly invites us to His table. At His table, there is no discrimination based on race, nationality, social status, or any worldly distinction. All are welcomed through His grace. We are not worthy to attend this heavenly feast. Yet, it is only because of God’s infinite mercy and amazing grace that we have received this invitation. Every celebration of the Holy Qurbana is a golden opportunity to restore our broken fellowship with God and with one another. It is truly the Table of Reconciliation. Before receiving Holy Communion, we exchange the Kiss of Peace. This beautiful act proclaims that there is no division between us. We are one in Christ and are called to approach His table with peace, love, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 5:23–24 that reconciliation with our fellow beings is essential before offering our gift to God. Isaiah declares that this banquet is prepared for all peoples. God’s invitation is universal, without partiality or exclusion. It is the gracious invitation flowing from Christ’s sacrificial love on the cross. In the midst of our unworthiness, His mercy alone makes us worthy. Isaiah further proclaims that God will swallow up death forever, wipe away every tear, and remove His people’s disgrace. Sorrows and death are not the end - God’s salvation is beyond all these .  Finally, Isaiah calls us to rejoice in the Lord and patiently wait for His salvation. As Christ has invited us to His Table of Reconciliation, We may also become ministers of reconciliation, inviting others to experience His forgiving love and uniting grace.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, thank You for inviting us to Your Table of Reconciliation. Fill us with Your grace, forgive our sins, and help us to live in peace and unity with one another. Amen. 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

        :The Table of Reconciliation is where God’s grace welcomes us, Christ’s love unites us, and His hope transforms us to be the Ambassadors of Reconciliation in this broken world.

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation.
