Compassion In Action 

Bible Reading: Deut  10;12-22

Key verse:  18

“He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.” — Deuteronomy 10:18

DEVOTION

Growing up, many of us heard the commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself,” often referred to as the Golden Rule. Yet, for many of us, this can be one of the hardest commands to follow. Deuteronomy 10 reminds us that loving God is not simply about what we say or believe; it is reflected in how we live.
God calls us to fear Him, walk in obedience, love Him, and serve Him with all our hearts (Deut. 10:12). He also calls us to care for those who are vulnerable, overlooked, or in need. God Himself “defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow” and loves the foreigner (v.18). As His people, we are called to reflect that same compassion.
God’s compassion is not passive. He sees those who are vulnerable, defends them, and provides for their needs. Because we are created to reflect Him, our compassion should also move beyond feelings and become action. When we care for others, stand up for those who are overlooked, and provide help to those in need, we reflect the very heart of God.
Although the Holy Spirit transforms our hearts, we can still fall into anger, bitterness, pride, and selfishness. God continually shows us His love through His mercy and blessings. In response, He calls us to put our faith into action and love others as He has loved us.

PRAYER

Almighty God, we come to you today thankful for the bountifulness of your mercy ,compassion and kindness. we seek your mercy and unconditional love to dominate our life and enable us to extend your love and compassion to others as you have show, Amen

God’s love and our love for Him is made visible when we choose to show compassion to others.

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation. God wanted some people to be separated for the special ministry among his people. God appointed Aaron and his descendants to take up this kind of ministry among the people of God.
