Edification of the Church

Bible Reading: Acts 28:23–30

Key verse:  30-31

For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!"
(Acts 28:30–31)

DEVOTION

The Church is more than a physical structure; it is God's people. The Church is strengthened as its members grow in faith, deepen their knowledge of Scripture, and actively share the message of Christ with others.
In Acts 28:23–30, the Apostle Paul was under house arrest in Rome. Although he was confined as a prisoner, he never considered his ministry finished. Instead, he welcomed everyone who came to him, explained the Kingdom of God from the Scriptures, and boldly proclaimed Jesus Christ. His physical freedom was limited, but the Gospel was not. Paul's life reminds us that no circumstance can prevent God's work when we remain faithful to His calling.
As Christians, our primary responsibility is not only to believe in Jesus Christ but also to make Him known to the world. Our Lord commanded us in the Great Commission to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). Every believer is called to be a witness through both words and actions.
As Saint Thomas Christians, we have been blessed with a rich heritage of faith. However, every generation must continually return to God's Word and allow the Holy Spirit to renew our hearts. The Church is strengthened when we move beyond tradition alone and embrace the mission Christ entrusted to us, to proclaim His love to all people without distinction.
Paul's transformation on the road to Damascus reminds us that a genuine encounter with Jesus changes our purpose. The former persecutor became one of Christianity's greatest missionaries because he experienced the saving grace of Christ. Likewise, when we truly know Jesus, we cannot remain silent. We become instruments through whom God builds His Church.
May we continue to study God's Word, encourage one another, defend our faith with gentleness, and boldly share the hope we have in Christ. In doing so, we participate in the edification of His Church and the advancement of His Kingdom.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, Thank You for calling us to be members of Your Church. Help us to grow in faith, remain rooted in Your Word, and boldly proclaim the Gospel wherever You have placed us. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that our lives may strengthen and encourage others. Use us to build up Your Church and bring glory to Your name.

The Church is edified not only by attending worship but by living as faithful disciples who know Christ, love others, and boldly proclaim the Gospel to the world

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water.
