Marriage: Celebration of unity and partnership

Bible Reading: Ephesians 3: 14 – 21.

Key verse:  20-21

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen”

DEVOTION

Strong marriages are divine partnerships rooted in the unconditional love of Christ. Drawing from Paul's prayer in the above verses, the unity of a couple is strengthened not by human effort alone, but by the great transformative power of the Holy Spirit. Living Christ-centered lives, we invite his boundless grace into our homes, and we build on the strong foundation thus created. Paul prayed for believers to be rooted and established in God’s imperishable and unconditional love. Marriage is a relationship which draws its strength from the inexhaustible fountain of God’s love, instead of building on the shifting sands of emotions. It is the very essence of a divine partnership that stands steadfast on the bedrock of forgiveness, patience and mutual respect, strongly powered on by God’s Spirit alone. Moreover, as two people together, seek to explore and comprehend how wide, how long, how high and deep is the love of Christ, their gateway to love one another expands greatly. Their unity now becomes a joyous celebration of two individuals becoming one, to more aptly reflect the totality of God’s character, by partnering one with the other, supporting each other in spiritual growth and thus being able to efficiently navigate life’s many challenges, with unwavering faith in God. Ultimately, a Christ - centered marriage relies heavily on the promise, that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ever ask or imagine, as we dedicate and re-dedicate our marriages to Him. May our marriage partnerships transform into beautiful masterpieces of his love, growing to be living testimonies that glorify God’s grace, in our homes and in our communities, for generations to come.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father! Do exceedingly more than we may ever imagine through your great power. May we be able to stand strong in the midst of life’s storms, bonded together tightly by Thy love and for the glory of Thy Holy Name. To you be all glory! Amen.

Marriage is a beautiful tapestry of two lives, woven together by the strong, unbreakable cords of God’s unwavering love.

  Constant, patient and welcoming love of God   St. Luke 15: 11-32  V.21: And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ The parable of the ‘Prodigal son’ is one of the most frequently quoted parables that Jesus told His disciples. PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation. God wanted some people to be separated for the special ministry among his people. God appointed Aaron and his descendants to take up this kind of ministry among the people of God. Priests are always separated and appointed as channels that connect God with his people.
