Worship in God’s Presence for God’s Purpose

Bible Reading: : Isaiah 6:  1-8

Key verse 8

8. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8)

DEVOTION

The vision of Isaiah in chapter 6 teaches us that true worship is not merely singing songs or attending religious gatherings. Genuine worship begins when we enter the presence of God and behold His holiness.
Isaiah saw the Lord seated on His throne, high and exalted. The seraphim cried, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty." In the light of God's holiness, Isaiah became aware of his own sinfulness and cried out, "Woe to me! I am ruined!" Worship always leads us to humility and repentance. When we truly encounter God, we see ourselves as we really are.
But God's presence is not meant to condemn us; it is meant to transform us. One of the seraphim touched Isaiah's lips with a burning coal and declared that his guilt was removed and his sin atoned for. God cleanses those who come before Him with a sincere heart.
After worship came God's call. Isaiah first saw God, then experienced cleansing, and finally heard God's voice. The purpose of worship is not merely personal blessing but preparation for service. God seeks men and women who have been changed by His presence and are willing to fulfill His purpose.
Today, God still asks, "Whom shall I send?" The greatest response a believer can give is, "Here am I. Send me." A life of worship should always lead to a life of mission. When we spend time in God's presence, He shapes our hearts, reveals His purpose, and sends us into the world as His witnesses.
May our worship not end at the altar but continue through a life dedicated to God's service and glory.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting us into Your holy presence. Like Isaiah, help us to see Your greatness, acknowledge our shortcomings, and receive Your cleansing grace. Open our ears to hear Your voice and give us willing hearts to respond to Your call. May our worship lead us to serve You faithfully and fulfill the purpose You have for our lives. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Thought for the DAY

Those who truly worship God in His presence will discover God’s purpose for their lives.
