Worship in God’s Presence for God’s Purpose

Bible Reading: :  1st Chronicles 16:23-36

Key verse:  34

  " Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His steadfast love endures forever"(1st Chronicles, 16:34)

DEVOTION

This verse is a universal call for all nations on earth to acknowledge His mighty presence. Everyday gives us a chance to reflect on God's grace. It is an expression of gratitude and a sharing of hope with fellow Christians. On a personal note, every single day begins with the words: " Thank you Lord Jesus for giving me one more day to live". This one-line prayer takes different turns and twists as the day progresses but the core theme remains the same: acknowledge, celebrate and adore the presence of the Almighty in one's life. It is a daily lifestyle of gratitude and a powerful catalyst for leading a Christian life in consonance with Christian ethics and values.
A personal testimony here would not be out of place. An ailment that shook my life to its very foundation took me all the way to India for rest and holistic treatment.  Later I realized that God had better plans for me when I underwent a major surgery followed by treatment and recuperation at a Senior Home surrounded by the pristine scenery of nature's beauty. Every day as I woke up, I lapped up and gave thanks to the Lord for the morning mist, the serene sky, the gentle winds and the chirping of the birds.  I lifted my hands and gave thanks to the Lord for the most powerful treatment He administered in my life. I drew closer and closer to my Lord and Savior which made me joyfully cry out:  "O give thanks to the Lord for he is good; for His steadfast love endures forever-

 

                                                                  PRAYER

Dear Lord, Thank you for your everlasting steadfast love that sustain us.  We are ever grateful for your presence in our lives. May we acknowledge and celebrate it daily with gratitude and adornment.  -Amen

Thou shall worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve.

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation.
