Jesus the Ultimate Influencer

Bible Reading: : John 8: 12-20

Key Verse: 12

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”(John‬ 8‬:12‬).

DEVOTION

We live in an era of social media. An influencer is one who impacts the thought process of their followers through podcasts, ticktock etc…They can influence the minds of their followers, especially the young ones, positively or negatively. Politicians, marketers etc…use influencers for their benefit.
In the key verse, Jesus declared the second of his seven “I am” metaphors. Jesus is the Light of the world. He illuminated as the Light in the world of darkness and sin.
Jesus is the truth. His credibility is not dependent on human approval, but on the Father’s. “And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased” (Matthew‬ 3‬:17‬).
Jesus is the greatest influencer of all times; even though He travelled only a small territory. His impact on humanity is unmatched. His twelve comparatively illiterate disciples turned the world upside down. They became influencers for Jesus, by making disciples for Him.
Jesus is the only way to the Father. He bridged the gap between sinful humanity and the holy Father, through His substitutionary atoning sacrifice on the cross. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved”(Acts‬ 4‬:12‬).


                                             PRAYER

Heavenly Father, enable us to live in the Light. In Jesus name. Amen

Are we influencers for Christ by winning souls for Him?

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation.
