RISEN CHRIST: ASSURANCE OF EVERLASTING PRESENCE.
Bible Reading: : Mathew 28: 16-20
Key Verse: 20b
: And surely , I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
DEVOTION
Mathew 28: 16-20 provides a powerful affirmation of Christ's presence and the promise of His enduring companionship with His followers. This passage often referred to as the the great commission, highlights not only the command to make disciples but also the profound assurance that Christ is with us always
RISEN CHRIST: ASSUARANCE OF EVERLASTINGPRESENCE: After His resurrection, Jesus meets His disciples in Galilee, a significant location representing a return to their roots and the commencement of a new mission. The disciples worship Him yet doubtful, illustrating human uncertainty even in the presence of Risen Christ.
THE COMMAND TO GO: Jesus commands His disciples to go to the end of the nations and make all people hear the gospel of Salvation. This mission is grounded in the authority given to Christ, reminding us that we are empowered to share the message of the gospel.
THE ASSURANCE OF HIS PRESENCE: Jesus's promise to be us always to the end of the age, serves as a source of comfort and strength. We are assured that what ever be the challenges we face in fulfilling our mission, we are never alone. The presence of the Risen Lord will transform all our endeavors.
IMPLICATIONS OF CHRIST'S EVERLASTING PRESENCE: In times of doubt and confusion, we can seek His guidance , wisdom and direction, and have an assurance that His presence will be there at every step of our life. Life's challenges can be overwhelming, yet knowing that Christ walks alongside provides us an immense comfort and courage. As we engage in His mission and outreach activates, His empowering presence reminds us that we are actually fulfilling a greater work He urged us to complete.
RESPONDING TO HIS CALL : Can we embrace the mission, reflecting on how we can actively participate in sharing the faith, serving others or simply being a source of love and encouragement. Cultivate awareness of His presence, by practicing prayer, meditation, or studying scripture.
In conclusion, this passage, not only commissions us but reassures us of Christ's everlasting presence. Let us be encouraged to embrace our mission with confidence, knowing that Risen Lord is always by our side.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, risen and reigning, thank you for your promise to be with us always. Help me to live boldly in your mission, trusting that I am never alone. Amen.
