The Lord Who Guides in Truth

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 48:12–17

Key Verse:  17

“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you for your own good, who leads you in the way you should go.” — Isaiah 48:17 (NRSV)

DEVOTION

In Isaiah 48, God speaks tenderly to His people who often wandered away from Him. Though Israel repeatedly failed, God did not abandon them. Instead, He continued to guide, teach, and lead them in truth. This passage reminds us that divine guidance is not merely a direction for success, but a call to walk faithfully in God’s ways.
Today, many voices compete for our attention—social expectations, personal ambitions, and worldly definitions of success. Yet the Lord lovingly calls us back to His truth. God’s guidance is rooted in His holiness and compassion. As St. Augustine once wrote, “Our hearts are restless until they rest in You.” True peace comes when we allow God’s Word to shape our decisions and character.
In the MarThoma tradition, Christian discipleship is lived through obedience, prayer, and service. God guides us not only through Scripture, but also through worship, fellowship, and the witness of the Church. Even during uncertainty, we can trust that the Lord leads us for our good.
When we surrender our plans to Him, His truth becomes the light for our path and strength for our journey.

                                                   PRAYER

Lord, teach us to follow Your truth faithfully and guide our lives according to Your will. Amen.
