Holy Spirit — The Lord and Giver of Life

Bible Reading: :  John 14: 15-21

Key Verse:  16

16: “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.”

DEVOTION

In this passage, Jesus prepared His disciples for a time when He would no longer be physically present with them. Yet He did not leave them helpless or abandoned. He promised the coming of the Holy Spirit;  the Comforter, Helper, and Spirit of Truth. The Holy Spirit is not merely a force or influence, but the Lord and Giver of Life who dwells within every believer.
The world often searches for life through wealth, power, or human wisdom, but true spiritual life comes only through the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit gives strength to the weak, wisdom to the confused, peace to the troubled, and hope to the discouraged. He renews our hearts and leads us into a deeper relationship with Christ.
Jesus said that those who love Him will keep His commandments. Obedience to God is not achieved merely by human effort; it becomes possible through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit living within us. The Spirit teaches us, convicts us, comforts us, and guides us daily.
Even in loneliness, fear, or uncertainty, believers are never alone. Jesus promised, “I will not leave you orphans.” The Holy Spirit is the abiding presence of God in our lives. Through Him, Christ lives in us, and we experience the fullness of divine life.
Today, let us open our hearts afresh to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to guide every thought, word, and action.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life. Fill our hearts with Your presence and teach us to walk in obedience and truth. Strengthen us when we are weak, comfort us in times of sorrow, and guide us in every step of life. May Your Spirit renew our minds and deepen our love for Jesus Christ. Help us to live each day under the leading of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“The Holy Spirit does not merely visit the believer; He dwells within to give strength, guidance, and eternal life.”
