The Blessing That Flows from God’s Presence
Bible Reading: : Numbers 6:22-27
Key Verse: 27
So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.
DEVOTION
Can we go through a whole day without stopping to notice God’s constant care?
We wake up with strength in our bodies. We travel to school, work, or church safely. We have food to eat, clothes to wear, and people who love us. Many of these blessings happen so often that we may forget they are blessings at all.
In Numbers 6, before the tribes of Israel bring their offerings to God at the tabernacle, God gives Moses a special blessing for Aaron and his sons to speak over the people:
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”
This blessing was not just a nice set of words, it is the truth from God Himself: true, trustworthy, and meaningful. God wanted His people to know that He was not only with them when He rescued them from Egypt but would continue to bless them, protect them, show them grace, and give them peace.
God’s care was not short-lived. He did not help His people once and then leave them alone. He remained near to them.
The same is true for us today. God’s blessings are not always easy to notice. It can look like safety on the road, food on the table, or encouragement from a friend. When we remember God’s care, our hearts become more thankful, more peaceful, and more ready to trust Him again tomorrow.
PRAYER
God, thank you for keeping us, for blessing us, and for loving us. Help us remember your provisions every hour.
