DRAWN WITH LOVING KINDNESS

Bible Reading:  Jeremiah 31: 1-6

Key Verse:  2-3

“The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest, the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you” (Jeremiah 31:2-3)

DEVOTION

From the very first page to the very last, the Bible reveals a single, persistent theme: the Father’s deep desire for those He created to walk in close relationship with Him. It has always been God’s intention for us to share in that kind of intimacy, to walk with Him, as Adam and Eve once did in the garden.
In today’s bible portion, Jeremiah’s message was a message of grace in the midst of judgement .Jeremiah 31:2-3 is so beautiful not only because it reveals the depth of the Father’s love toward us but also because it demonstrates God’s passion to draw us into His presence even as we suffer the consequences of our poor choices. When God called Moses to lead His people out of slavery in Egypt, the Israelites didn’t expect their path to freedom to be so long or difficult. Yet God guided them through the wilderness to teach them to rely on Him, and to prepare them for the good land He had already set aside for them.
Many of us have experienced this season or are going through it right now. We often wonder why God doesn’t immediately change our hardest seasons. God hears our cries for deliverance, and He has grace for us in our wilderness. Often God uses these experiences not to break us but to make us more like Jesus. When we chose to trust God’s promises and receive His grace each day, He begins to reveal His will for us. No matter how we feel, we can stand with confidence, trusting that God remains faithful.

PRAYER

Oh Lord, thank You for listening to our weary prayers when life feels overwhelming and we are searching for answers. Help us to hold fast to You in faith and to stand firm in the truth of who You are—a good, faithful, and loving Father. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

In His lovingkindness, the Lord gently draws us back to Himself. Let us respond to that great love in obedience and the assurance of being forgiven and restored.
