Christ – The Anointed One

Bible Reading:    James 5:12-18

Key Verse Vs 15-16

“V15-16: And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

DEVOTION

The English word "Christ" comes from the Greek Christos, which means "the Anointed One". Jesus Christ has been chosen by God to fulfill the specific divine mission of rescuing people from their sins by His sacrificial death on the cross. Only Jesus can provide both physical and spiritual restoration. As followers of Jesus, we have been entrusted with the responsibility to pray fervently – not only in our sufferings but also in our joy. We are also called to pray for one another. A prayer offered in faith can physically heal the sick and can spiritually restore the sinful.
We live in a chaotic world where geopolitical conflicts are affecting millions, societies have become more radical and economic instability persists. During these turbulent and unpredictable times, we should pray without ceasing to Jesus Christ; for only He, through His unchanging nature and presence, can provide true stability and healing.

PRAYER

O Lord, fill my heart with your Spirit, that I may love You, love one another and pray for one another. May Your love, peace and mercy heal and restore all of us. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:18)
