Grafted into the peaceful kingdom

Bible Reading:   Romans 11 : 16 - 24

Key Verse Vs 21

If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root.

DEVOTION

In Romans 11:16–24, Paul the Apostle explains God’s plan using the picture of an olive tree. The root represents God’s promises, and the branches represent His people. Some branches were removed because of unbelief, and others were grafted in. This shows that being part of God’s kingdom is not about who we are, but about faith.
This teaches us an important lesson—there is no place for pride. We are part of God’s family not because we earned it, but because of His grace. Just as a branch depends on the tree for life, we depend on God for everything.
Paul also gives a warning. If God removed some branches because they did not believe, we too must stay strong in faith and not become careless or arrogant.
At the same time, there is hope. Those who were removed can be brought back if they turn back to God. His kingdom is full of mercy and restoration.
Being grafted into this peaceful kingdom means living with humility, trusting God, and staying connected to Him. It is a life rooted in faith, growing in love, and reflecting His peace.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for grafting us into Your promise by Your grace. Keep us humble and rooted in You. Guard us from pride, and teach us reverence. Let us bear the fruit of Your goodness and lead others back to You. Keep us steadfast in faith, alive in Your Word and Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

We stand not on our merits but by grace, called to remain humble, rooted in faith, and open to God’s restoring mercy.
