Grace That Overcomes History

Bible Reading:  Micah 7:15-20

Key Verse Vs 19

Vs 19. You will cast all our sins in to the depths of the sea.

DEVOTION

Micah 7:19 reminds us of God's enduring compassion and His power to forgive. The verse states, "He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea." This passage emphasizes the overwhelming grace of God—a grace strong enough to overcome our past and erase our sins, offering us a fresh start. It reminds us that God's love and mercy are greater than our shortcomings, and He is always ready to forgive when we turn to Him.
A Message of Comfort in Times of Loss
Today, I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to one of our CEF coordinators, Mr. Samji John, who was suddenly called to eternity. The news was shocking and deeply upsetting, and it serves as a reminder that life is not within our control. Our Lord, the Creator, holds all things in His hands, and we have no right to question why such events happen. The only comfort available to us is to surrender entirely to His feet and seek His guidance.
We remember Samji’s family as they endure profound sorrow and pain, and we earnestly pray that God will grant them comfort and understanding—something no human soul can provide. In moments of loss, we lean on the promise of God’s compassion and the hope that His grace will sustain us through every trial.
Grace in the Lenten Season
We are in the Lenten season, a time that invites us to look honestly at our past. It is an opportunity to reflect on our failures, regrets, and the wounds we've experienced. According to Prophet Micah, God's grace surpasses everything in our past. We worship a God who does not remain silent or distant but works continually to redeem, restore, and renew. Israel had a history of disobedience, yet God never disowned them. He revealed His steadfast love and showed compassion. Our iniquities are thrown into the depths of the sea and never remembered. Too often, we carry our mistakes from yesterday into today, recycle them, hold on to our guilt, and live without hope of approaching His throne. But God interrupts this cycle. He is faithful to His promises, merciful beyond measure, and committed to restoring us.
Rediscovering Amazing Grace
Let us rediscover this amazing grace that saves a wretch like us. Let us surrender our past to God and seek His forgiveness, love, and compassion. Let us strive to enter His eternal abode—a seat in heaven where multitudes praise and worship Him.

PRAYER

Merciful God ,thank you for your steadfast love. You know our past  yet you choose to forgive and restore us. Allow us to release our burdens to you and give us the freedom  we can enjoy in Christ. In your name we pray Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

God’s grace is not limited by our past .It surpasses everything and pardons all our sins .
