DEVOTION

This passage emphasizes the importance of understanding the nature of mission of Christ, which provide as a firm footing for believers to deal with the challenges they face. Today we are reflecting on a powerful truth from God’s word. We are a new creation in Christ. Many believers continue to live under the weight of the past, old sins, mistakes and old identities. But scripture reminds us that when we come to Christ everything changes.
2ND Corinthians 5:17, it says “therefore if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come, the old has gone, the new is here. Take a moment and let that truth settle into your heart. Being a new creation does not mean self-improvement or simply trying harder, it means spiritual transformation. God does not repair the old life, but he replaces it. Ezekiel Ch:36 verse 26 says ‘I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you.” When you accepted Christ, God performed a work within you that no human effort could accomplish. You are no longer defined by your past mistakes, failures, or sins, you are defined by Christ and His finished work on the cross. Although God makes us new, many of us still struggle to let go off the old habits, old ways of thinking, and old sins can try to follow us into new walk with Christ.
Ephesians 4:22-24, It reminds us to put of the old self and put on the new self, created be like God through righteousness and holiness. Letting go off the old self and to put on the new self, created be like God through righteousness and holiness. Letting go of old life is a daily decision. Romans 12:2 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind us we spend time in God’s word or thoughts change and our life begin to reflect Christ more, you as a new creation and your identity has changed. You are no longer slave to sin. You are free and you are no longer condemned, you are forgiven. You are no longer lost; you are a child of God. Galatians 2:20 it declares, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me”. In Colossian 3:9-10, it reminds us that we have taken off the old self and put on the new self. Galatians 2:20 declares: ‘I no longer live but Christ lives in me “Christ lives in you and His spirit empowers you to walk in obedience faith and love. Each day we choose to walk by the spirit to pursue righteousness and reflect God’s love to those around us. Growth takes time and God is patient with us, even when we stumble His grace lifts us up.

PRAYER

: Heavenly Father, thank you for making us new in Christ. Thank you, there for that our past no longer defines us. Help us to walk daily in our new identity,  as new creation, renew our mind and strengthen us with your Holy Spirit. Amen
