Freedom From Anxiety Through Godly Perspective

Bible Reading: :: Luke 12:22-34

Key verse

Bible Verse: “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.” - Luke 12:32

DEVOTION

As we celebrate the Savior's birth and look ahead to the new year, it is important to remember the true reason behind Jesus' birth. Isaiah 9:6 prophesized, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” For all those who carry worries in their heart, this promise gives us the freedom from anxiety through a Godly perspective.
Wonderful Counselor: The Calmer of All Our Storms
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5:7
It is known that the best form of relief is talking to someone we trust. Jesus, our own counselor, gives us the opportunity to speak to him freely. We talk to Jesus through prayer, where we can share all our worries and uncertainties with him. Just like he calmed the storm, he is able to calm our hearts by the simple yet powerful act of prayer.
Mighty God: Miracle Worker
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”- Mathew 19:26
Anxiety often fills our minds with many doubts and fears – our abilities, health, and the future. In times of weakness, God reminds us that we are not alone. He has power over every situation that is beyond our own control. Whenever anxiety says it's impossible, God tells us that there is always hope through him.
Everlasting Father: Forever and Ever Without End
“The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”- Psalm 121:8
God will always be present in our lives. He is a constant strong foundation that we can always lean on. When life brings us uncertainty, we are confident that God will continue to help and provide for us through every season.
Prince of Peace: The Answer to Anxiety
“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you”- John 14:27
The cure for anxiety is peace and Jesus is the Prince of Peace. God already knew that we would carry many worries in our heart, which is why he send Jesus to restore the broken relationship with the Father. Through Christ, we get peace that this world can never offer and an invitation to enter His kingdom. Through Him we are able to face every situation with courage and the strength he provides us.
As we are going to begin the new year, let us remember that anxiety loses its power when we change our focus from worldly worries to eternal promises.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, calm my anxious heart. I place all my worries into your hands, the very hands that formed me and gave me purpose. You alone know what my future holds, and in You alone I trust. Fill me with your peace and guide me with each step I take. In your powerful name I pray Amen.

“A more Christian attitude, which can be attained at any age, is that of leaving futurity in God's hands.” - C.S Lewis
