Renewed Strength Through Divine Exaltation

Bible Reading: :: Isaiah 40:25-31

Key verse

Bible Verse:V. 29-31: “He gives strength to the weary… Even young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength”.

DEVOTION

“He who has God and everything else has no more than he who has God only.” - C.S. Lewis. We are often misled into believing that education, financial success, connections, or ‘lots of family’ will equip us to handle every situation in life. While these are valuable, there are times when none of these can pull us out of hardship. Isaiah 40 reminds us that if we walk with God, we have all the hope and strength we need to be sustained during difficult seasons. In this chapter, Isaiah comforts the Israelites, who question the brokenness around them and wonder if God truly cares. We might fall victim to this very question ourselves, however, Isaiah responds with a reminder and promise:
The Reminder: God’s character
The Promise: Who God renews with strength and how we must position ourselves to receive it
The Reminder:
God is eternal and everlasting, not bound by time or schedules. “Too early” or “too late” is not in His vocabulary. In Jesus’ visit to Lazarus’s tomb, Mary and Martha believed He arrived too late, yet there was purpose in the delay so God’s power could be revealed through resurrection.
Sovereign Creator—man is not in control. Verse 30 reminds us that trusting in human strength ultimately leads to disappointment.
God is our hope and strength. In Corinthians, Paul writes that outwardly we may waste away, but inwardly we are renewed daily. God’s strength is often spiritual, sustaining us through trials rather than just removing us from them. He will not lose one of His children, all things work out for the good of His children.
The Promise:
 4. God gives strength to those who worship Him—He will take care of you.
 5. God gives strength to the faint. Acknowledging weakness invites reliance on God; pride blocks it. Do not fall in love with your own strength like King Saul rather, humble yourself like Paul.
 6. We must learn to walk with God by trading our weakness for His strength.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help us to acknowledge our reliance on you in our weakness so that you might come in and renew our strength to be sustained through the trials in our life.
Amen.

Thought for the DAY

Our God draws nearest to the weak and lowly, and as we wait upon Him, He is never late but quietly renewing our strength to walk faithfully with Him.
