Honoring God in Youth

Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles: 29: 10 to 15

Key verse

Vs 13  Now, Our God ,We give you thanks and praise your glorious name.

DEVOTION

Jesus came down to this humble earth to fulfill His Father’s will. He took on human form and walked in perfect obedience, always honoring the purpose for which He was sent. His life was the perfect example of surrender to God’s will. When creation mocked and crucified the Creator, the earth shook to its foundations, and the heavenly beings bowed their heads, awaiting His command. Yet, with all authority and power at His disposal, Jesus chose silence. He submitted Himself fully to the Father’s plan of salvation.
In Proverbs, we are reminded to “remember your Creator in the days of your youth.” David, who knew the heart of the Lord, also lived by this truth. In 1 Chronicles 29, he prayed a powerful prayer of praise, declaring that everything belongs to God and that our lives are but offerings returned to Him. Honoring God begins with humility—acknowledging that every blessing, every gift, and every talent flows from His hand.
David was not without fault. He stumbled and fell, yet he poured out his heart in repentance. Scripture says his tears were kept in God’s bottle, a sign of how deeply the Lord values a humbled spirit. His life reminds us that honoring God means not only walking faithfully but also returning to Him when we fall short.
As God’s creation, our responsibility is to glorify our Savior in every season of life—whether in youth, middle age, or old age. We are called to turn away from sin, walk in obedience, and continually seek His guidance. Every gift and talent entrusted to us must be used to build His Kingdom.
When we live to honor Him, we walk under His blessing. And when our time on earth is complete, we will enter His eternal home and join the heavenly host in praising His name forever and ever.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the reminder that everything we have and everything we are comes from You. Teach us to honor You in our youth and in every stage of life. Help us to use our talents for Your glory, to walk in obedience, and to seek Your forgiveness when we fall short. Keep our hearts humble and our eyes fixed on You, so that one day we may rejoice with You in eternity, praising Your holy name forever.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
