Shining for Eternity

Bible Reading:    Philippians 2:12-18 

Key verse:  Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation then you will shine among them like stars in the sky. (Philippians 2: 14,15)


DEVOTION

“Enjoy every minute of your life. Be close to your family and be close to your friends and have compassion and understanding for other people “this was a simple message Judge Frank Caprio of Rhode Island gave to his granddaughter and to the world. He was a shining star in this world because of his unique approach to justice as he treated defendants with kindness, empathy and fairness. He often dismissed traffic violation tickets after listening to the defendant’s explanations or showed leniency when handing over justice. He also dedicated his life to improve access to legal services particularly for low income individuals and established scholarships to support this cause. With his passing on Aug 20, 2025 the world lost a kind judge who reflected the glory of Christ through his life.  
In Philippians 2: 12-18, Paul urges the Philippian church to live out their faith and do everything without feeling pressured or tired but with a new enthusiasm filled with love and humility-all for the glory of Christ. He is urging the church to reflect Christ’s character in everything they do and thereby inspire others to follow Christ.
How can we shine like stars through faithful living? Staying grounded in faith by being nurtured by God’s word, making godly choices, setting appropriate boundaries, seeking guidance when needed, reaching out to others in their distress, using our blessings to help others, sharing beliefs and values respectfully are some ways we can inspire others in this world and shine for Jesus.
 

PRAYER

Lord please teach me and fill me with your spirit to live a life that reflects your joy, peace and love to this world. May my words and actions always honor you and comfort others in their distress. I surrender my life to you that you may shine through me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!

Shine brightly wherever the Lord has placed you reflecting his love, kindness and truth.

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation. God wanted some people to be separated for the special ministry among his people. God appointed Aaron and his descendants to take up this kind of ministry among the people of God.
