PREPARE TO BEHOLD HIS GLORY

Bible Reading:   Deuteronomy 4:1-12

Key verse: Verse 9: Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not  forget the things...........as long as you live.

DEVOTION

In Deuteronomy 4, Moses speaks to the Israelites as  they stand on the brink of entering the promised land. He urges them to listen closely to the commands of God and to observe His statutes, emphasizing the importance of  of preparation to receive God's blessings and witness His glory.     Moses begins by reminding the people of their unique relationship with God. They are not just any nation; but are chosen and set apart. As believers today,  we share the same privilege. We are also called to prepare our hearts and minds to behold His glory, but what does that truly mean?
LISTENING AND OBEYING:   The  first step in preparation is to listen to God's word. Moses emphasizes the need for obedience to His commands. When we immerse ourselves in scripture , We align our lives with His will,  making our heart fertile for His  presence.
REMEMBERING  HIS WORKS:  Moses recounts the history of God's faithfulness to Israel. To behold His glory, we must also remember the ways God has moved in our lives.  Reflecting on His past faithfulness build our faith
and anticipation for what he will do next.
GUARDING OUR HEARTS: to prepare  to behold His glory, we must  guard our hearts against anything that may  take precedence  over our relationship with Him.  That may mean letting go of certain habits, relationships, or distractions that hinder our spiritual growth.
ANTICIPATING  HIS PRESENCE:  As we prepare our hearts, we should cultivate an attitude of expectation. God desires to reveal himself  to us, and when we seek  Him earnestly, we will undoubtedly behold His glory.
Preparing to behold His glory is an ongoing journey  of remembering  His past revelations, recognizing  His unparalleled greatness, responding in obedience  to His word , and reproducing this spiritual inheritance  in others.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for the privilege of being your  chosen people. Help us to listen to your word and obey your commands. Remind us of the ways you have been faithful in our lives, and help us  to guard our hearts against distractions. As we prepare to behold your glory, fill us with a sense of anticipation  for the wonderful ways you will reveal yourself.     In Jesus' name  we pray Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

How is the next generation being prepared , to behold His glory?  Are the stories of his faithfulness being shared diligently. ? Are His word taught , and is a life of obedience modeled?  Actions and words today shape the spiritual legacy?
