Renewal by God’s Grace

Bible Reading:  Titus 3:2-9

Key verse: Vs 5 He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy spirit.

DEVOTION

In Titus 3:2-9, Paul tells us to live with kindness, humility, and peace toward everyone. He also reminds us that we weren’t always this way. At one time, we were lost making bad choices, following our own desires, and trapped in sin. It’s humbling to admit, but it makes God’s grace even more amazing.
Our salvation didn’t happen because we were “good enough” or because we earned it. It happened because God, in His mercy, stepped in. Through Jesus, He poured out His Holy Spirit on us, washing us clean and giving us new life. This renewal isn’t just a one-time event when we first believed it’s something God keeps doing in us every day. His Spirit keeps shaping us, softening our hearts, and helping us grow.
When God renews us, it changes how we live. We’re no longer defined by our past mistakes we’re heirs to eternal life, called to live in a way that reflects His goodness. That means showing love in our words, treating others with respect, and being ready to help where we can.
Paul also warns us not to get caught up in pointless arguments or petty disputes. A heart renewed by grace chooses unity over division and love over pride.
So, let’s ask ourselves, are we living like people who’ve been renewed? Are we letting God’s grace ? So, let’s ask ourselves are we living like people who’ve been renewed? Are we letting God’s grace show in how we treat others? This week, look for one way to share that renewing grace with someone maybe through kindness, forgiveness, or encouragement. Let your actions be a living reminder that the same grace that changed you can change others too.

PRAYER

Lord, thank You for the grace that saved us and the renewal You bring each day. Help us to walk in humility, love, and kindness, showing Your mercy to those around us. May our lives reflect Your goodness, and may Your Spirit continue to shape us into the image of Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I want to be, I am not what I hope to be in another world; but still I am not what I once used to be, and by the grace of God I am what I am.” — John Newton.
