Education That Leads to Divine Truths

Bible portion: Romans 11:33-36
Key Verse: “Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?” (Romans 11:34)

Devotion
Our world and our community place a significant emphasis on secular education. We are driven to learn, to gain knowledge, and to understand the world. But have we ever paused to ponder the underlying reason for our passionate pursuit of worldly education? Is it solely for employment, financial gain, or success? Or is it to bring God glory?

St. Paul presented an effective difference in our pursuit of education to the Roman church; he talks about the profound depth of God's wisdom and knowledge. At its core, it reminds us that no matter how much we learn or how many degrees we accumulate, our positions hold, there exists a higher truth that surpasses all human knowledge.

St. Paul's question, 'Who has known the mind of the Lord?' is a humbling reminder that emphasizes the fact that while we may amass knowledge through our studies, only true wisdom, the kind that has the power to transform lives, comes from God. Just like our secular education, our faith education is uniquely designed to guide us towards a deeper reverence for God. It should help us recognize His greatness and understand that all knowledge is to help aid in this mission and ministry he has entrusted us.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, guide my learning so that it leads me to deeper wisdom and understanding of Your divine truths, and may all I do be for Your glory. Amen.
