Devotion
In this passage, Jesus confronts the Pharisees and teachers of the law for their hypocrisy. They were meticulous in following religious rituals, like tithing even the smallest spices, but neglected the deeper, more significant aspects of God’s law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. Jesus’ words serve as a powerful reminder that true reformation is not just about external observance but about an inner transformation that aligns with the values of God’s kingdom.
Reformation and Kingdom Values
1. Justice: The kingdom of God is built on justice. As followers of Christ, we are called to act justly in all our dealings, to stand up for the oppressed, and to ensure fairness and equity.
2. Mercy: Mercy is a core value in God’s kingdom. We are called to show compassion and forgiveness, just as we have received mercy from God. This means being kind, understanding, and patient with others.
3. Faithfulness: Faithfulness involves being true to God and His commandments. It means living a life of integrity, being trustworthy, and staying committed to God’s principles and promises.
Inner Transformation
Let there be a true reformation begins within us. Ask God to help you address any hidden sins, selfish motives, or areas of hypocrisy in your life. Seek a genuine inner change that reflects God’s kingdom values. Justice, Mercy, and Faithfulness: Reflect on how you can better embody these values in your daily life. Are there areas where you can promote justice, show mercy, or demonstrate faithfulness more effectively? Let us strive to be authentic in our faith. Let our outward actions be a true reflection of an inner transformation rather than a desire to appear righteous to others.

PRAYER
Lord, help us to align our lives with your kingdom values of justice, mercy, and faithfulness. Forgive us for times when we have focused more on outward appearances than true inner transformation. Cleanse us from within and help us to live authentically before you and others. May our lives reflect your love and righteousness in all we do. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Thought for the Day
True reformation begins within. Align your heart with the values of God's kingdom—justice, mercy, and faithfulness—and let your actions flow from a place of genuine inner transformation.
