 GROW IN THE DIVINE WISDOM

 Proverbs 8:1-12

VV. 10-11: "Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”

In the book of Proverbs, wisdom is often displayed. Wisdom calls us to seek understanding and invites us toward God’s calling. These verses establish how wisdom is obtained which isn’t through human knowledge but rather through God’s mercy. God holds the truth and through him, we can embrace wisdom. This isn’t something that applies to elite people, but it also is given to the weak and simple. It grants us guidance with all that we may encounter in life. As long as we are available and open our hearts to receive, wisdom will be granted to us.

In a world that often values material wealth and fleeting pleasures, this passage reminds us of the incomparable worth of wisdom. It surpasses the value of silver, gold, and precious jewels. The treasures of this world may provide temporary satisfaction, but true wisdom holds eternal significance. It leads us on a path that aligns with God's purposes and brings a fulfillment that surpasses any worldly achievement. Let us heed the call of wisdom, allowing its transformative power to shape our lives. We are encouraged to choose the instruction of wisdom over worldly riches, recognizing that true wisdom is an invaluable treasure. It dwells with knowledge and power, inviting us to dwell in its embrace as well.

Throughout our life journey, we should seek God’s gift of wisdom, because it will be given to those who seek Him. We must open our eyes to him, and open our hearts to receive His Word which proclaims life. His teachings will grant us guidance through all the troubles we may face. Through God’s provided wisdom we can experience the life that he has set for us experiencing his great love.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of wisdom that you grant us through your Word. Please give us the strength to openly receive your gift wholeheartedly and apply it to our lives. Allow us to follow your will and the path that leads to righteousness. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
