Jesus Christ who forgives our sins .

Isaiah 33: 13-34

Sometimes we need to step back and re-examine what it is that we believe. Many things can cloud our eyes to understand our real need for Jesus Christ and salvation. We often hear the statement, “All people are basically good.”  Those who say all people are basically good have never read the Bible to see what God has to say on the subject. The fact is, according to the scripture, mankind is sick with sin and all need a Savior! Mankind needs saving. Man, left on his own is prone to evil. Have you seen the news lately? The fact is that; everyone needs to be saved. Saved from penalty of sin, saved from the world, saved from flesh and saved from devil. The holy Bible teaches us about the need for salvation. Romans 3:9–18; Romans 3:23, Romans 7:14–8:2 We all need salvation, because we all transgressed the commands of God. None of us are free from penalty of sin. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But it was not always that way. Man was created innocent and blameless. God created man to honor, serve and fellowship with Him.Rev 4: 11. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, honor, and power: for thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created. But Man choose to sin against God rather than obey and serve him Gen 3: 11. What does it mean to sin against God? .Sin is breaking God’s law( I john 3: 4).We sin by doing what God has commanded us not to do or by not doing what God has told us to do. But because God is high and holy, any transgressions to the command of God brought a penalty – death: “for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” Death, right from the beginning was the penalty for sin. Gen 3: 11. Both Adam and Eve sinned. They died and death and sin has been with us ever since. That has been the condition of human race ever since. Those who say all people are basically good are ignoring what God has to say on the subject of sin. We all have inherited a sin nature from Adam. Then how can we ever have eternal life? How can we have a new nature? 2 Cori 5: 17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature : old things are passed away behold , all things are become new .Throughout history individuals have tried many ways to gain or earn eternal life but every attempt has been unsuccessful. The Bible says Ephesians 2: 8,9 For by Grace are ye saved through faith and not that of yourselves it is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast. We are saved by Christ’s payment our sinless substitute. Jesus Christ God’s sinless son, the Father sent the lamb of God to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the Cross in our place. The Bible says, But God commandeth His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5: 8. For Christ also hath suffered for sins the just for the unjust that he might bring us to God. I pet 3: 18.  Jesus Christ alone as the only hope of salvation and eternal life. Jesus himself said John 14: 6 “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by Me”.  Acts 3: 19 Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. Acts 16: 31Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Romans 10: 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. God’s promise for us in eternal life John 5: 24 Verily verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Prayer
Father God we thank you for your precious love for us by sending your son to die in our place on the cross to save us from the penalty of our sins. Now help us not to be ashamed of the good news for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only way, the truth and the life. Help us to be your witness and spread the good news in our time on earth. Amen.
Thought for the Day
Jesus Christ is our redeemer. Will you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior today. To do so you must 1) Admit that you have sinned against God and ask him for forgiveness 2) Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for your sin on the cross, rose from the dead and is the Lord 3) Call up on Jesus Christ and Trust Him to be your Lord and Savior.
