 The Renewal of the Church

Psalms 106:1-12
v10 “He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.”

The Psalmist here reflects on the failures of the past and present generations of Israel. There have been many examples of in the past where the people had turned away from God and time and time again God came and redirected their course and saved His people. There were many times that the people lost faith in God and turned in other directions, yet God was still good to his people. He delivered the people out of Egypt and brought them to the promised land. But even after all this and witnessing all God’s power, there are moments in the Psalmist’s present day where people were making the same mistakes. Like the people of Israel, we are also guilty of this.
We walk the world today and sometimes we don’t even have faith as small as a mustard seed. No one said a Christian life was the easy life. No one said we wouldn’t face difficulties. There are times where we do have the faith to move mountains and for a time we are at a good place but once we hit our first bump or face an obstacle the same faith that was moving us forward seems all but diminished. We have turned away from God at multiple times in our lives, but God had always stood by us and welcomed us with open arms when we turn back to him. God loves each and everyone one if us dearly which is why we must learn to stop the cyclic style of faith. Its time to take a moment and honestly asses our past and ask God for forgiveness of the wrongs that we have done against Him and those we have hurt. It is time for the people to come together as a church and as a nation to reflect on our past and move forward with each other. It is with unity in each other and with God that we are redeemed.

PRAYER
Father, we are called to be your people and sometimes we fall short, we ask that forgive us. We thank you for your love and Mercy and help us walk the path so that when we meet you in heaven we may hear your words “Well done good and faithful servant” we are not here to serve the world but to serve you. May our actions show your grace and mercy so that through us they may see your Son Jesus Christ in our lives.  Amen
