COMMUNION WITH THE RISEN LORD IN DAILY LIFE
John 21:20-25
VS 22  Jesus said to him ,if it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you ? follow me”.

The risen Lord demonstrated Himself alive, at different places. He appeared near the tomb to Mary Magdalene, to the women on their way to the tomb, to the two unknown disciples on the Road to Emmaus and on the shore of Galilee. No doubt, the followers of Jesus had loved Him. They had great hope in Him. Yet, they could not comprehend or believe the Resurrection of our Lord.

The Christian life is a life of walking with Jesus; it is a life of talking with Jesus. All redeemed Christians always have Christ on his or her side; because He is the Way. However, we fail to recognize His nearness, His presence and His voice.

When we read  the Gospel of St. Luke Chapter  24 vs 13 to 32, the risen Lord meets two of his followers on the road to  Emmaus. This  story promises us Jesus will come to us in unfamiliar guises to support and strengthen us when we least expect our risen Lord. Emmaus moments come to us when we meet the risen Christ on our life’s journey through rough times.

In John Chapter 10 , Jesus says that the sheep recognize the shepherd’s voice. If you are the sheep of His flock, you shall recognize His voice and His abiding presence. Do we recognize His presence and hear His voice? If we have to hear His voice, we are to know Him first. Faith and trust are the most important aspects of Christian life.

Peter was a changed man after confronting Jesus one more time .Peter once so thoughtless, impulsive and cowardly ultimately lived to glorify God, once he denied.Filled with the holy spirit we see him glowing with a new power and urgency to testify Jesus. Also we see in this portion for our meditation  Jesus instructing his disciples to follow Him .We see  Our Lord as he is getting ready to ascend to heaven inviting and imploring Peter to be fishers of men and continue  His Ministry.

We can  have a fruitful communion  with our Lord Jesus on a daily basis through reading  and meditation of the  Bible, through our participation in the Holy Qurbana  and through our personal and family prayers.  When we meet our risen Lord through the Word of God, we commune with him.  We renew our relationship with Jesus through prayer. All these prepare and enable us to encounter the risen Jesus living in all the people we meet and to do Him humble, loving and selfless service in each of them.
PRAYER
Lord, enable us through your grace and loving mercy to renew our relationship with you. Amen
