Feast of Pentecost: Holy Spirit, Renew the Creation
Ezekiel 36:24-36
v27 “And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”
The restoration of the people of Israel is the main element of the Lord’s divine plan. When God redeems His people through Christ, it leads to our salvation and ultimately to the glory of God. The sin and iniquities of the people leads to defilement of the land. It alienates God’s people from the God, which leads to an uncomfortable relationship with the God. God is great and his name is great and His holiness makes Him the greatest of all in the earth and heaven. He always listens to our prayers and forgives our sins and iniquities. When King Solomon finished the Jerusalem temple, God appeared to him and said: “I have heard your prayers and have chosen the temple as a place for sacrifices. When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among his people and if people call my name and humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7: 12 -14
God is always at work to make His people sinless so that He can put His spirit in them. God wants us to walk in His statues given to Moses and also to keep His judgments and follow the same. The promises given by Lord are for those of the new covenant and for all who lay hold of that covenant, whether Jews or Gentiles and whether in the millennial age or in the future. From the time that the Holy Spirit was sent forth by our Lord Jesus Christ, these blessings have been poured out, in the richest abundance on God’s Church and His people.
In order to be exalted to thrones of glory, we need to be cleansed by the Spirit of Christ from all our filthiness and from all our iniquities. Our heart of stone must be changed and our ungodly life needs to be rectified in order to enjoy the eternity of heaven. Our conscience must acknowledge that this change is necessary to reconcile with God. Hence, we need to forgo our sins and iniquities and hold on to these promises, since it will provide us with new hope and will enable us to secure the blessedness to which it leads us. The Holy Spirit given to us by Lord Jesus Christ will guide us and help us to keep His statutes and walk in His judgments.
  PRAYER
Lord, forgive our sins and iniquities and instill Your Holy Spirit within us and heal our land. Amen
 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
When Lord shuts up the heavens so that there is no rain or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among his people and if people call my name and humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
