Jesus Christ: The Way, The Truth, and The Life
1 John 1:1-10
v7-10 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
A python is one of the largest snakes in the world. It weighs 200 pounds and can grow up
to 18 feet. Why the python finds a suitable prey, it will slowly move to get to the prey as soon
as possible but not too fast to alert the prey. And when the python is at a suitable distance, the python will jump out, bind the prey tightly, and feed on its prey. In the Bible, the snake
symbolizes sin. And how does sin start, temptation. Temptation can occur in different forms such as people, objects, food, and so much more. And once you are lured in that temptation, sin the python will hold you tightly, making it difficult for you to escape. Now whether you are entangled in sin or you’re being tempted, there is a very strong force that can save you and that is Jesus Christ.

As we read in verse 7, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the
truth is not in us.” By saying we don’t sin, we are just deceiving ourselves and saying that our God is a liar. We have all sinned in our life. No doubt about it. We’re all born sinners because our sinful nature was inherited from Adam. But that sinful nature is washed away by the precious Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God showed us agape(selfless,
sacrificial love). The love of God for the entire human race caused God to send his son to die
for us. We should that our rejoice Saviour will save us from the powerful hold of sin.

To end off, I ask that the next time you participate in confession before Holy Communion, plead guilty before God about your sins and be humble. We should honestly confess all our sins fully for forgiveness from sin.
PRAYER
Lord God, hear our prayers as we ask forgiveness for our sins so we may attain your heavenly kingdom.
