Christian Participation in Nation Building
Revelations 21:1-8
Vs 5 - “He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Church is called to be holy and set apart for God’s Kingdom. As a result, every Christian is called to be different in the world. Not just on Sunday, but every day of our lives. The book of Revelation reminds early Christians to lead holy lives as they await their final participation in God’s kingdom in the midst of suffering and persecution. Every Christian must live as if we are a new creation in Christ every day.
Church needs to model God’s Kingdom values:
When we look around locally and globally, we can see that patterns of the world have crept into the Church overtime. We need to model Kingdom values in the Church to be prepared “as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband”. God is not looking for external beauty or success, but consistency in character, integrity and mercy. This allows the world to see God’s love through His people. We must have Christ at the center of our lives and demonstrate His love in our dealings with others. It is through this act that the world would see God living with His people.
Church needs to prepare the nation for Jesus’ second coming:
The Bible centers on the person of Jesus. Letter to Hebrews teaches us Jesus is superior to everything and everyone. Jesus was there in the beginning and he will be there at the end. He is “the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End”. He will be coming again to the world to judge both the living and the dead. Our mission is to prepare the world for His arrival. Christians need to share the good news of the cross and resurrection to the nation urgently. As a beggar tells another where to find food, we need to share the source of life with the world. We will certainly face persecution and ridicule, but be assured that what we profess has eternal consequence.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I pray that you would help me to arrange my thoughts and actions to be ready for my Savior’s return. Father, give me wisdom and direction to build people and communities. Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
What one small action can I take today to model God’s Kingdom in my life?
