Mission: to make Jesus known
“And Paul replied whether short or long my prayer to God is that
you and all the rest of you that who are listening to me today might become
what I am expect, of course for these chains” (26:29)
Apostle Paul had only one
mission in his entire life after encountering Jesus at the gate of Damascus.
His intention was to make Jesus known to all. He dedicated himself completely to
that objective. His life meant nothing to him as long as he served this new
purpose. " For what is Life?, to me
it is Christ. Death then will bring more." Philippians 1: 21.
In the above passage Paul was
treated as a criminal and was imprisoned for his beliefs. Soldiers guarded him day and night. But he was
not afraid to any of them. He instead used this as an opportunity to preach and
witness Jesus to them. He even testified the Lord to the higher authority of
that country. He admonished them to repent your sin, believe in Jesus and
confess their sins so they could receive salvation. Many of the soldiers
received in Christ into their life through their encounter with Apostle Paul
and the teachings of Christ.
Paul preached about Jesus and
salvation where ever he went. "I have complete confidence in the gospel” It
is God's power to save all who believe, first the Jews and also the
Gentiles." Romans 12: 16. Regardless of his situation Paul used any
opportunity he had to share with others.
Let us examine ourselves and
take account of whether we are willing share Jesus to others in our daily lives.
Do we testify of God's grace to our neighbors?, To our co-workers? When you
become sick or fall in an accident or one of our loved one was passed away or
any other difficult situation we encounter in our life, are we still willing to
share Jesus' love with others?. As a
Christian, it is our responsibility to share this good news to others and bring
them to the hope of salvation. We must take every opportunity to extol Lord
Jesus before others.
Prayer: Father, give me the
grace regardless of the situation I am in to be able to share the joy of your
salvation to your creation. Amen.
Thought for the day: Take
every opportunity to share Jesus to others
