MATURED YOUTHHOOD

Ecclesiastes 11: 9 - 12: 7
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come
and the years approach when you will say…(12:1)
Ecclesiastes represents a reaffirmation of the central thing in ancient wisdom - an acknowledgement of the limits of human understanding. The author Solomon never denies the sovereignty of God. The substance of this passage is powerful and beautiful description of old age and the relentless approach of death. The writer reveals that the age of youth is to rejoice but that enjoyment does not go beyond the limits, remember that God is the Creator.

I. Rejoice in your Youth: Being young is a blessing from God. Solomon tells young people to enjoy being young, which they can, they will soon be old. He also tells young people the choice before them. Youth means a time of creativity, critical mentality, vigor, willingness to take risk and so on. Present world scenario there is enough opportunities to enjoy our life and loose our life. Luke Chapter 15 gives a youngsters picture, he asks his share to his father and goes out and spend his share as he likes. Enjoy life with God is meaningful.

II. Remove Sorrow from your Heart: All human beings are motivated towards the achievement of physiological needs like food, clothing, shelter, and pleasure. The youths of today are very sensitive about achievements of these needs and enjoyment of life. They need security of life and acceptance in society. The market society has equipped our youth with the instrument of competition to achieve the goals. This, today, creates troubles and struggles to lead a peaceful life in this world, the Bible assure you to put your burdens on God He will lead you. Don't to be anxious and worry, entrust life in the hands of God he will guide you.

III. Remember Your Creator: In the word of God, the youths are most highly valued. Solomon tells young people to think about their future, their plans, their old age and eventual death before they do things that may damage their future or bring them agony, guilt, and pain in their old age, because they misused their minds and bodies when they were young. If people misuse themselves, then their old age will be more painful than just the normal weakening of body and mind with aging. When young people choose a life purpose, make big decisions, or are tempted to do wrong, they need to remember that God created them, and if they obey God, then God will bless, guide, and help them at every age or stage of life. Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Let me close with a proverb, "the beauty of the world is amazing but not to pour out the oil from your spoon" Youthfulness valuable but chances are more to spoil it.

Prayer: Lord, help us that let nobody despise our youth. Enable us to lead a life which is worth in your sight and honorable to your namesake. Amen

Rev. Jose C. Joseph Mathew,Dallas
