Peace Fulfilled in God’s Faithful Promise

Bible Reading: ::  Acts 13:17–26

Key verse

Bible Verse::The God of the people of Israel chose our ancestors; he made the people prosper during their stay in Egypt; with mighty power he led them out of that country. ( Acts 13 : 17 )

DEVOTION

Acts 13:17–26 reveals a powerful truth: God’s peace flows from His unchanging faithfulness. As Paul speaks in the synagogue, he reminds the people how God guided Israel through every season—choosing their ancestors, delivering them from Egypt, sustaining them in the wilderness, and giving them the land He promised. Each step shows a God who remembers, protects, and leads His people with purpose.
Paul then points to the greatest fulfillment of God’s promise: Jesus Christ, the Savior born from the line of David. For generations, Israel waited for the Messiah, trusting in God’s covenant. In Jesus, those long-held promises came to life. He is the proof that God never forgets what He has spoken.
Because God is faithful in history, we can trust Him with our present. Peace does not come from our circumstances, but from knowing that the same God who led Israel leads us today. His promises are not fragile or uncertain; they are sure, steady, and fulfilled in Christ.
John the Baptist prepared the way, calling people to turn toward the One who would bring salvation. Now that Christ has come, this peace is offered to all who believe.
In Jesus, God’s faithfulness becomes our refuge.
In His promise, our fears lose power.
In His presence, our hearts find rest.

PRAYER

Lord God,
Thank You for Your faithfulness through every generation. As You fulfilled Your promise by sending Jesus, fulfill Your peace in our hearts today. Quiet our worries, strengthen our trust, and help us rest in the assurance that Your word never fails. May Your peace guide our steps and guard our minds, and may our lives reflect the hope we have in Christ.

Thought for the DAY

True peace is found in trusting the God who keeps every promise—and in embracing the Savior who is the fulfillment of them all.
