Bound together in Love and peace

Bible Reading: :Colossians 3:12-15

Key verse:  

Vs14 Ands over all these virtues put on love which binds them altogether in perfect
unity.

DEVOTION

Colossians is unique  in its emphasis on the cosmic rule of Jesus Christ .Like in many of the churches Paul established false teachers wreaked havoc on the church and its teachings after his departure. Some taught the believers that the works of the law was vital for the salvation. Salvation is a miracle . Every human being needs a spiritual resurrection to be able to know God and live for him .only Jesus  can give one the spiritual resurrection. In chapter 3  Paul says  since “you have been raised with Christ  ,set your  hearts on things above where Christ is seated on the right hand of God, Set your minds on things above and not on earthly things.” We are God’s chosen people  and Paul exhorts us to clothe ourselves with  compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience which are all fruits of the spirit. Once you are filled with the Holy spirit we will be carriers of these traits and not agents of devil and his works.
Further  the apostle asks to forgive one another as our LORD HAS FORGIVEN US . Jesus taught his disciples to forgive each other and be in unity  always .Mat 6:15 says  if we do not forgive others their sins ,our heavenly father will not forgive our sins. But of the all the virtues one can have the greatest is love  and it binds them all together in unity.  We can see the same teachings in 1 Corinthians 13.,where Paul details about love and its manifestations. Love is kind, patient and never fails. We can acquire all  Godly virtues and if love is lacking we are nowhere. Faith ,Hope and love are the greatest traits for a Christian to have and of these the greatest is love. So as we wind up our meditation today  let us see how we dress ourselves in the world around us. Are we clothed with Christ's kindness ,compassion and love forgiving  each other and living  together in harmony bounded in love and peace. May The Holy spirit empower us to lead a life of unity loving ang forgiving each other.

PRAYER

 Lord prepare our hearts to respond to your teachings and execute your will glorifying you every day through our actions.  Help us love, forgive, and live in harmony, making this world a reflection of your kingdom on Earth.

Thought for the DAY

And now these three remain. Faith ,hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation.
