 GLORIOUS DIVINE CREATION

Psalms 104: 1 – 24
V.24: O Lord, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom you have made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.

Once while I was sieving the water off the cooked rice, I wondered what an amazing creation our eyes are. Despite the steam, our eyes never become foggy; the problem most of us who wear spectacles face while wearing surgical masks or N-95. Medical practitioners can relate to what I say because they know how intricate and amazing each minute part of our body is. Scientists are trying to reach logical explanations to the origins of creation and of each species, but ultimately, they end up with a universal answer – the intricacies evident in creation, in every living and non-living being, or even our DNA can never happen by chance, but there has been an intelligent design involved. Though many of them do not want to attribute this intelligent design to God, the most ardent scientists also believe in a Cosmic consciousness that has played an active role in creation.
Many of us find it difficult to believe in God and those who do believe find it so difficult to explain it to someone else. Yet, if we try to reach logical explanations on how this world came into being, how diseases get cured, or the help most of us have received during testing times of our life, we realize that it’s equally difficult to not believe in God; A God that is sovereign, the one who is in control of the entire universe and every single cell in our body and the minute particles in the Cosmos.
Our busy schedule has made us all lose the awe and wonder towards God’s creation. Even though we take vacations and travel to exotic locations across the globe, we absorb ourselves to the five-star stay and dining experiences, and seldom to the wondrous and intricate creations of God. The tall Sequoia trees, the Yosemite waterfalls, the scenic beauty along the Pacific Coast Highway, the sea creatures conserved in our aquariums, the variety of plants, flowers, and trees, the animals, birds, and reptiles we see in our Zoos, all emanate God’s work. Just pick a leaf and observe the intricate veins running through it, doesn’t it radiate the creative process of our God. In fact, world-famous Architects and Designers admit that they take inspiration for many of their creations from the natural world.
If this is how wonderfully we and everything around us has been made, can we ever refrain from praising God and glorifying Him? Psalm 104 is an exuberant and poetic description of God’s sovereignty and His creation and how it all unites with Him. Verses 1-4 talk about God and the heavens, verses 5-13 about God and the earth, and verses 14-23 about God and people. The 24th verse proclaims that everything derives from God and praises the wisdom that created everything. Let us look with awe and reverence to everything around us and within us and never be bereft of praises for our Creator.

                                                Prayer
Lord, help us so that we never lose awe and wonder towards all your creations, and praise you every moment of our lives. Amen.
