Easter- The Celebration of New Life

St. Mark 16:1-8

But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.’ Mark 16:7
Mark states that Jesus is going ahead of them to Galilee, which is the home of many of the 12 disciples.   Jesus is going ahead of them again.  Even though the disciples were not faithful, Jesus will always be faithful.
A challenge for all Christians is not just to encounter Jesus on Easter Sunday in church, but to also encounter Jesus at home.  Do you see Jesus at home?  The women do not return to their same old lives,  They are given a message to proclaim and the assurance that they will encounter Jesus again,  He is already in Galilee, he is at your home.
Easter is a message of hope for all people.  There will be challenges in life.   There will be hardships.  There will be pain.  There will be suffering.  There may even be death of the body.  However, we are not to lose faith and we are not to lose hope.
Jesus has overcome this world and Jesus has overcome death.  Jesus is always faithful, even when we are not faithful.  This Easter let us encounter the RISEN LORD not only in church, but also in our homes.  Let nothing be the same again.  Jesus is with us to the end of the ages.
The Son of God has risen and the darkness of this world is disappearing.  As the women at the tomb were told to proclaim the Good News to those that were still in darkness and had lost hope, we too are called to harbingers of the Good News to all people.
Jesus has Risen and he goes ahead of us, to lead us on the path we are to follow.
"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in the heart of every Christian."
                             Prayer

Heavenly Father, enable us to encounter the Risen Lord in  Church, at home, and everywhere we go.  Allow us to be harbingers of the Good News.  In Jesus' name we pray.  Amen.
