Temperance - Honoring the body as the temple of God
1 Corinthians 3:16-23
Vs 17 - If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
Our body is considered the temple of God. But that does not mean that maintaining our physical appearances are the only way to take care of it? Not only must we keep our bodies healthy physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. If anything defiles our temple, placing our complete faith in the power of Christ is the key to keep our temple safe and secure. God can give us the strength to be mindful about our purpose as His servants, and also help us endure throughout the hardships. As Christians, we should consider our bodies as a gift, something that we should honor. We can show our appreciation for this precious gift by avoiding things that defile it, such as acts of sexual immorality.
There are many ways to protect our temple physically, mentally and spiritually. One way of attending to the physical well-being of our temple is by dedicating enough time for sleep, exercise and a healthy diet to keep the body energized. By changing the way we think, reminding ourselves about the beauty of life and unplugging from the ungodly things of this world we can cleanse the temple even further and enhance our mental health too. Our daily walk with God through the scripture, prayer and personal witness helps us to remain in spiritual health.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we praise you and thank you for giving us the gift of  our body, your temple to exhibit in this world. We pray that you strengthen and guide your children to keep your temple safe and honor it with the Holy Spirit. Amen
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A temple may look beautiful on the outside, but what goes on inside also matters.
