The tool left to rust, Our Faith
Mark 10: 46-52

52 Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.

Faith is the ladder used to overcome any obstacles.
The story of Bartimaeus shows a powerful message. Due to his disability, he couldn’t really advance and live a happy life, so he decided to adjust himself to the situation and beg. The sympathy and coins he received from pedestrians helped him  to sustain a bit longer however it didn’t bring his sight back. He still had to beg. When he heard that Jesus had come, His presence equipped Bartimaeus with the will and faith to come out of his shell to face his obstacle face to face. Most of us feel frustrated and distressed when we encounter certain obstacles, whether it be financial or physiologically, the majority will feel dismayed as they feel life is unbearable. We are often content with our current state of being, but God wants what’s best for us.  It is up to us to determine how to achieve our needs and our wants. We can relate ourselves to Bartimaeus as we want to see Jesus but we fail to realize that God is all around us, He is with us everywhere we go.

Many doubt God when their prayers are not immediately answered . Well, this is where the real test exists. Faith means to trust or to have confidence in a person or thing and for people who have unanswered prayers to show that they  have confidence in God to answer their prayers. Even if He answers it within 2 days or 2 years we must have faith that He will solve our problems and not adjust ourselves to our unhappy state of being like Bartimaeus did before he met Jesus.

PRAYER

Dear God, our problems, big or small, stop our progression in life. So please Lord, mould us to have faith in You, faith that does not break but that last till the end and pushes us to act.  Amen

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Reflect upon ourselves, how faithful are we towards God? How often do we go to Him in our times of trouble?
