Faith in Action

Shan Mathew

6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

There was an Orphanage located by the mountain side in India in a poor neighborhood.   Because of the existence of this mountain, it was extremely hard for people to travel back and forth to the Orphanage.  They made several requests to the local authorities in seeking help with this difficult situation. This orphanage held a prayer session in faith to have the mountain moved from there, being reminded of Matthew 21:21.  About a week later, a construction company from the nearby city appeared before the superintendent of the orphanage seeking to get the rocks from the mountains to be used to build a shopping mall by the beach.   God answered their prayer as they asked in Faith.

“And it is impossible to please God without Faith.  Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him” (v.6).  Faith is the unwavering trust in God.  You will surely receive what you asked for, if prayed with Faith. Luke 11: 5-10 reminds us that, He is not just a friend, but also someone who paid the price to ransom us by His blood.  Our relationship with God is not merely a friendship, but a familial relationship bought by his blood.  We should have the assurance that God answers our prayers upon submitting our requests before the throne of Grace.

As we look into our church history, we can see that the only asset that our church and our forefathers had was their unshaken faith in God.  Through their eyes of faith, these forefathers saw the blessings of their children, which came into action years later.  Faith is the spirit of the dead and life of the living church in the years to come.  No story is worth sharing without faith.   As we see those examples of faith in this passage, we should cling on to God daily in relationship through faith in prayer and experience His blessings.

PRAYER

Our Heavenly Father, we thank you and praise you for allowing us to experience your Grace in our lives through Faith. We pray that you mold us to grow stronger in faith and be a witnessing ambassador of your blessings in our community. We thank you for answering our prayers, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
‘Faith’ is the thriving force behind pleasing God as well as opening up our eyes to see His true nature.
