Responsible Resource Management (Tithe offering)
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.".(V.10)

Imagine a tomorrow where all your worldly pleasures are taken away from you. We live in a society today where material pleasures become idols in our lives. The nice house we live in, the nice car we drive; these are all examples of idols that can sometime drive us to not tithe and turn away from the Lord God Almighty.
In the beginning of this passage, we see the men of the generation had turned away from God and continue to ignore his commandments. Yet, God calls on them to return to him as he has not forgotten them. Unfortunately, the people make excuses for their sins when God is calling them to serve him first and put their needs second. This is a tough task for some Christians today to put their full trust in God because of their lack of faith that He will provide. I assure you God has a plethora of blessings waiting for you only if you are willing to answer his call.
Let us spend some time to reflect whether we tithe a portion of our wealth and time for the glory of God’s Kingdom. Can you take time off and serve in a mission field? Can you take a portion of your income and donate it to those of need? In verse 10, we see the Lord God Almighty testing us to do this for him and how he shall repay us. Unfortunately, the children of Jacob have become so content in their sins that they choose to ignore the Lord’s call. This is a prime example of how sin can continue to turn us away from following the path of righteousness laid before us. By failing to tithe, we are actually robbing God of what is due to him.
As it says in Luke 6:38, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap." The Lord God is always by your side. He will continue to knock at your door. The question here is are you ready to open the door and serve the Lord?

Prayer: Lord we pray for us to reflect on our own lives and turn to the Lord to serve with our time and provide offerings for the glory of his Kingdom….Amen

Thought of the day: Let us take a moment to decide if we are currently tithing and if we are, are we giving as much as we can? Let us make a decision today and not wait for another day to pass by.
