House of prayer for all: Embracing God's invitation

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 56:5-8

Key Verse:  Verse 5 – ‘Even to them I will give in My house and within My walls a place and a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.’

DEVOTION

When we look at the passage above it whole heartily agrees with the theme for today’s devotion which is ‘House of prayer for all: Embracing God’s Invitation’. We see from this passage that God never forces anyone to join Him or be part of His Kingdom, but instead sends us an open invitation. This shows how much God loves us and gives us free will to choose God’s way or our way. We know if we choose our way it is destined to hell and being cut off from God eternally, while on the other hand if we choose God then we have a place in His home (Heaven) and given the right to be called His sons and daughters. This is not just a regular invitation to a few people but invitation to all people, even foreigners, as seen in verses 6 and 7  ‘Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds fast My covenant even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer.’ The only thing we have to do, other than accepting the invitation, is to honor God in all that we say, think or do.  To be able to succeed in this we need to develop a strong habit of prayer where we continuously seek God’s guidance and thank Him for all He has given us.

   PRAYER

Our Loving Father, thank you for inviting us to have a truly special relationship with you. Please help us to hold fast to your covenant and be faithful to you.

Thought of the day

Accept God’s invitation and be enveloped in His Love for all eternity.
