From Strangers to Citizens: United in Christ’s Peace

Bible Reading: Eph: 2:11-19

Key Verse:  Verse19: “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God;”

DEVOTION

In this biblical portion St. Paul is comparing the spiritual state of Ephesians prior to salvation and after the salvation in Christ through faith. Prior to salvation they were dead in sin. “Dead in sins” means they are no way capable of pleasing God in any way. Their condition is better described in Romans 3:10-12 “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. Spiritually dead person cannot have any spiritual awareness in him.
Sinful person can change the state only through faith in Jesus Christ. When a person believes in Christ’s divinity, His Crucifixion and Resurrection, Holly Spirit changes the spiritual state of the person. No one is  saved by his own action. Saved means you are no more a stranger to the kingdom of God. Once you are saved you are citizen of the Kingdom of God, you are rightfully inheriting status to be with the saints and be sons and daughters of God almighty.  This privilege is only for those trust, believe in the Son of God Jesus Christ through Faith. Once you are in the kingdom of God you are United and unified in the peace of Christ.

   PRAYER

O Lord our God, we admit we were strangers, but once we trust and fully believe in Jesus Christ your Son, we are inheritors of your kingdom. We are greatly thankful for your divine intervention to save and adopt this sinner me. In the name Jesus Christ Amen.
Thought of the day

Jesus means "Savior" or "Jehovah's salvation," and it signifies that He will save His people from their sins
