Bible Reading: 2 Cori. 5:17-20
Key Verse: “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20)
DEVOTION
The entirety of Christian life can be described as pilgrimage. Us, missionaries, or as St. Paul puts it “Christ’s ambassadors” are continuously on a journey that intends to lead us heavenward - to be reconciled to God. In our journeys of life, we are called to do only one thing: move forward. Sometimes, we may see where God is leading us and are hesitant to move. Sometimes, we may feel like we’re walking in circles. Sometimes, we may even feel like we don’t know where God wants us to go. Yet, in all these scenarios, we must remember God walks with us. In each of these scenarios, God is with us, taking us to where we need to be. So I ask: are you where God wants you to be? Perhaps, when Jesus speaks of the harvest being plentiful but the workers few, He’s speaking to the idea that many of us workers are simply in places we aren’t supposed to be. How much more fruitful could we be, if we were in the right places. If we truly are missionaries and our everyday lives our mission fields, do we see the mission we currently undertake as reconciling all of creation to God or are we simply serving ourselves? Sometimes the journey God wants us to take isn’t easy. Sometimes the work is hard. Sometimes we’ll fall. Sometimes we’ll go the wrong way. All I know is this: we may not be where we’re going, but by God’s grace, we’re a long way from where we were - being lost in His grace is still being lost in
