MIND RENEWED, LIFE PURSUE

Bible Reading:  Roman 12:1-2

Key Verse:  Verse2: And do not be fashioned according to this age, but be transformed by the  renewing of the mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good  and well pleasing and perfect.

DEVOTION

Paul in the first 11 chapters of Romans, revealed the glory of God and His power  and mercy to save the people through the doctrine of Christ. And the next 5 chapters  Paul taught us how to respond to God's mercy to us. Apostle is asking us to present  our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptale to God. Christian life involves the
whole life – body ,soul, and spirit which is to be presented as a sacrifice to God.   While God owed us nothing, he showed us great mercy – how should we respond? A life of self sacrificing worship spent in serving the Lord and other beilevers, refusing  revenge and overcoming evil with Good. As a living sacrifice God has already set  us apart for His purposes and declared us acceptabe because He sees us in our  position in Christ. In other words, we do not have to wait, to be better people before  we can offer our bodies and lives to God.
One other important point Paul explained here is to abandon the chase for  pleasure, possessions, status and to stop living like anyone else in this world. Instead he urged us to be transformed from inside out. To be more specific, Paul wrote that  we must be changed as to how we think, to have our minds renewed so that we will  be able to understand God's will for our lives. When we consider God's mercy towards us, take our everyday life, our sleeping, eating, going to work, walking around, place  all activities, before God as an offering. To summarize, sacrificial living is the basis of  life application. Let us dedicate our lives in serving God and serving others, by being  kind, generous, selfless and be able to volunteer our time and finances. Our entire  being is a sacrifice to the Lord.

  PRAYER

Lord Jesus, though we are recipients of your mercy , grace and receiving the free gift of salvation, often times we went astray not considering your great love. Reinstate us from our setback and help us to transform and serve you wholeheartedly. Amen.

Thought of the day

 1. God wants a complete committment
2. It is reasonable to commit on the basis of the mercies of God 3. Renew our minds to fight against being conformed to the world, but transform  our minds after God's perfect will.
