   SING TO THE LORD

 Bible portion: I John 2:18-25

Verse 22 .  Who is not a liar if not he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? 
This is the antichrist, one who denies the Father and the Son.

Devotion 
Apostle John starts with an exhortation to the people everywhere who are recipients of  eternal life through Christ Jesus. John warns everyone that end times are near mainly because of the presence of the antichrists in this world. Antichrist is the one who denies Christ's deity, denying that Jesus  is Christ, denying the Father and Son relationship, not confirming that Jesus had come in the flesh through the divine conception of Holy Spirit.  During apostle's time many heresies  concerning the person of Christ, His divinity and humanity were spread around.  Antichrists are not born of God, are not in fellowship with apostles or believers, hence they are not from the body of Christ. 
               Believers of John's time as well as the present era people are reminded to remain in the fellowship of the Church and the body of 
Christ .We should strive for a deeper rooting in the word of God and a deeper experience of the spirit of God.  Now let us see what the Bible says about the last days: acts 2:17 “ and it shall be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My spirit upon all flesh”. Heb1:1-2 “ has at the last of these days spoken to us in the son, whom he appointed heir of all things”
Mathew 24: 24 “ for  false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders so as to lead astray if possible even the chosen”. 
               John continues to say in 5:19 ,that the whole world is in the power of the evil one. The anointing we received from the hoy spirit when we are born again will abide in us and strengthen us against the deceivers. The word of the eternal life  the believers heard from the predestined time, help to confess that Jesus Christ is the son of God and will let the eternal life abide in us. As far as our experience of the divine life is concerned, son and the father are all one.
                                               Prayer
 Lord Jesus, remind us always that we are the anointed ones, let the spirit of God abide in us, strengthen us from deceivers, and lead us into eternal life  amen.

Thought for the Day
Jesus Christ, and Father God are are all one, they are all inclusive elements ,and ingredients to the indwelling spirit who will anoint the believers  all the time to eternity.

PRIESTHOOD: THE ANOINTED MINISTRY Exodus 40:12-16 Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting... wash them with water. Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest (Exodus 40: 12-13). Priesthood among the people of God was a divine command and initiation. God wanted some people to be separated for the special ministry among his people. God appointed Aaron and his descendants to take up this kind of ministry among the people of God. Priests are always separated and appointed as channels that connect God with his people. All throughout the history of Israel, priests played an important role in connecting people with God and to lead and guide them in the statutes of God.
