 JJESUS CHRIST -THE LORD AND GOD

  Bible portion: 1Peter 1:3-12

Verse: 7  So that  the “proving of your faith”  much more precious than gold which perishes though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ ;

Devotional text
 When Christ  was resurrected, we, His believers were all included  , and  were resurrected in Him. In His resuurection he imparted the divine life into us and made  us same as he is.  This is the basic concept of regeneration. Regneration like redemption and justification, is an aspect of God's full salvation.  It will solve our rebellion against God and will reconcile us unto Him.  It will bring us ito a relationship of life, an organic union with God and it will results in a living hope. This living hope of life hinges  on eternal life, which we receive through regeneration.   It is our expectation  of the coming blessing, the  inheritance and the fulfillment of our hope in the coming age and in eternity.  Faith is the means  through which the power of God becomes effective in guarding us.
                       The purpose of this chapter is to establish and strengthen the suffering believers, who have been chosen by God, sanctified  from the world unto God by the spirit, sprinkled by the redeeming blood of Christ and regenerated by God  the Father unto a living hope, unto an inheritance kept in heaven for them.  Apostle Peter points out that when  we endure sufferingand trials , we will  receive glory from God.  We will all face different trials in life, but God can use our suffering for our good and for his glory.   We can prove and get approval of our faith  by enduring sufferings and trials through an unwavering faith. It will lead to praise , glory and  honor at the revelation of the Lord.
                        Peter also tried  to use the old testament prophets to confirm his teaching on new tesatament salvation. The word “grace” was used by prophets as a synoym  for salvation.  In old testament times, the spirit of God, as the spirit of Christ ,made the time  and the manner of time concerning Christ's death and resurrection, clear to the prophets who were dliligently seraching and seeking the sufferings and glories of Christ.  Verse 12 shows;  how angels were interested and observing the  things concerning  Christ  completing God's salvation process. Angels declared and celebrated the savior's birth, they rejoiced over sinners repentance, and they are happy to serve those who inherit eternity through salvation.

Prayer
Lord our God,  thank you for testing and approving our faith  through endurance in worldly tribulations and trials, and use it for our good and your glory.  Lord  we request you to bless us with  the inheritance reserved for the chosen. Strengthen and guide us in our faith journey in this fallen world.  Amen.

Thought for the Day
The Lord is with  us today, in a hidden and veiled way.   His second coming will be His revelation, when he will be seen by all mankind.  At  that time , not only  Lord Jesus will be revealed but also the proving of our faith will be revealed.
