JESUS CHRIST   -THE LORD AND GOD

   Bible portion:  Isaiah  43:1-12

Verse: 2  when you pass through the waters, I will be  with you, and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk  through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Devotional text
Prophet Isaiah   chapter 43 reflects God's care and concern for the Israel people.  Biblical context of the portion is that  the Jews had become spiritually blind and rebellious. Therefore Isaiah said God was punishing and pouring out anger  on them. However God wants to encourage those people who are in obedience  to him.  Lord was trying to raise a level of confidence by confirming ownership of His people. He reminds them that He created as a nation, therefore  they should not fear His discipline, for he has redeemed and ransomed them. We believers, when come under the discipline of God,  this verse can encourage us.    When we trust God, no matter what we may be suffering with, God will be with us; we will not be overwhelmed, we will not be consumed  by events like  floods or fires. We will receive the gift of eternal life through faith in His son Jesus.   Chapter 43  is one of most significant chapter in all of the old testament as it makes it clear that the reason for creation, salvation, deliverence of Israel did not arise for something to enjoy within the nation itself, but for God's choice  as a people to worship and obey Him
In every situation,  God promised to be with  His people, as he was with Daniel' and his friends when put in fire.   We can choose to identfy ourselves with the true God. Christians are called by the name of Jesus the Christ the anointed one. When we become Christians,  we glorify and honor God. We proclaim the greatness of God, and  His love, mercy, justice and righteousness.  We can be assured that we are God's people when we bow before Him and accept the way of salvation the son of God provided . We can choose to identify ourselves with the true God. He created us to be His people, so that, many more would come to believe in Him and glorify , with their lives of obedience.
Lord wants to stress the fact that, Israel was His servant chosen by Him, so they should believe and trust that he alone is God., and that there will  not be another savior for them. Isaiah mde  it clear that  God will redeem  them as His own children, His mercy and grace will be upon to restore and redeem them.  Lord declared again that, he isthe soverign God and  the  Israel's only hope and protecor which no other foreign God has ever done.  So it is their duty to be the witnesses to proclaim that Lord of the hosts, is their God and master.

Prayer
Lord of the hosts, you are soverign, no other God can save us or protect us. Enable us to honor and  Glorify our Lord and  God and help us to  live in complete faith and obedience.

Thought for the Day
Lord of the hosts, you are soverign, no other God can save us or protect us. Enable us to honor and  Glorify our Lord and  God and help us to  live in complete faith and
obedience.
