Jesus Christ Who Stops at Human Cries
Hebrews 11:1-12
Devotion
Living a Godly life is becoming more and more cumbersome in today’s world, because of all the distractions and tensions around us. Even true believers started asking the question “why God, why” when faced with situations that are out of the norm. Paul in his letter to the Hebrews refers to the basics of Christian faith as a divine discipline that is unwavering. That discipline is compared to running a race of faith with others, keeping your path strait, without losing the goal. Faith is the core of Christian living. As stated in Proverbs chapter 3, trusting in the Lord with all your heart and not leaning on your own wisdom is critical, when it comes to running a Christian race. Remember the encounter Jesus’s disciples met, when they were faced with a heavy storm on the water (Mark 4: 35-41) while Jesus was asleep in the same boat. Even when Jesus presence is with you, storms could occur. The disciples thought that they were going to perish. In their frustration, they screamed to Jesus to save them. After calming the storm, Jesus was questioning their faith. He even addressed them as cowards. This event reminds us that we could easily lose our faith when our lives are put on line. Paul’s writings emphasizing that we are not alone in this race, rather we are with others. Just like an earthly father discipline his children, God may give us hardships to keep us in check.
Calling upon Him and worshipping the Lord with divine sincerity is thankfulness is key to a successful Christian life. We all are obliged to many others, near and far, for our upbringing and successes and we can never forget that. Thankfulness to God and others around you makes us more visible and vibrant in in a world of fading Christian beliefs as re-stokers of Christian faith. Let’s stand in solidarity with other true Christian leaders and friends and run our race with full confidence and faith, derived from our living Heavenly Father.
Prayer
Father, help us to gain thy wisdom, without leaning on our own understandings, and run the race with full faith and holiness.
